Tools should support a clear purpose. Choose water and massage elements for sensory relaxation, and choose analysis or treatment technology when scalp or hair assessment is the main goal.
Water ring
A water ring is a circular fixture that directs warm water over the scalp while the guest lies at the shampoo bed. It is mainly a sensory and relaxation element. The sound, temperature and repeated flow can continue while the therapist works on the scalp, shoulders or arms.
The water ring should not be confused with scalp analysis or a medical device. Chandee uses it as part of its Vietnamese-inspired relaxation ritual.
Head bath, spa bath and onsen
A head bath directs water around the scalp or hair while the guest remains on the treatment bed. A spa bath or onsen involves soaking the body. Providers sometimes use similar language for very different experiences, so confirm whether the appointment includes actual bathing.
Morning Kiss publishes private bathing-onsen packages. Chandee's Sukhumvit 39 branch offers spa baths and an onsen bath add-on, while its Silom branch does not. Head Onsen describes a head bath rather than a body-bathing onsen.
Steam and nano mist
Steam or nano mist can help soften buildup and support the application of conditioning or scalp products. Temperature, duration and product choice matter, especially for sensitive scalps, fresh colour, extensions or recently treated hair.
Steam is a treatment feature, not proof that a programme is more relaxing or medically effective.
Scalp cameras and AI analysis
Magnified cameras can show visible oil, flakes, redness and product residue. Software may categorise what the camera detects, but a spa scan does not replace a dermatologist's diagnosis.
Siesta publishes AI analysis in selected scalp programmes, while Mitsuba includes scalp analysis in its short trial. Chandee deliberately follows a relaxation-led model without diagnostic equipment.
EMS, red light and infrared tools
Some providers publish EMS, red-light or infrared add-ons. These technologies differ in intensity, intended use and evidence. Ask for the exact device and purpose rather than assuming that every electronic tool produces the same result.
A useful comparison starts with your goal. Technology can support a scalp-focused programme, while hands-on time, pace and massage coverage often matter more for relaxation.

Chandee's 12- and 17-step rituals centre on the Ring of Water, scalp and shoulder massage, ASMR elements and optional full-body combinations.
Chandee supports Bangkok Head Spa Guide. We name alternative providers when their treatment design better matches a stated goal. Prices and programmes can change, so confirm details directly before booking. This guide provides general information, not medical advice.
